I’m Christina Lu (a.k.a. 呂彩寧 to my parents), a Taiwanese-Canadian UX and visual designer focused on turning complex, emotional, and abstract systems into clear visual and interactive experiences. I've lived in Vancouver for most of my life, and I'm currently in New York City getting my MS in Information Experience Design at Pratt Institute.

My work spans user experience and visual design, from interfaces and product content to brand systems and editorial pieces. I enjoy exploring across mediums, learning new tools, and experimenting with form when an idea calls for something more. Before this, I've done marketing and business analytics for tech companies, as well as illustration and graphic design in the entertainment industry. These experiences shaped both my creative and analytical approach.

I love that design lives in two worlds. One is invisible and abstract: research, systems, and patterns that help people act. The other is the craft we touch - interfaces and visuals that tell stories and invite us in. I’m happiest where those worlds meet, where curiosity leads, clarity and delight coexist, and the right design turns complex information into something people can understand and use.

Good design inspiration isn't just in design blogs and references - it's everywhere!

Because if I only learn "proper design practices," I'm designing without truly understanding what I'm making, why it matters, and how to actually make someone listen. Interesting solutions come from pulling together things that don't immediately go together - and diverse knowledge is what makes that possible.
